This historic, aristocratic hotel dates from the 12th century, is the oldest hotel in Venice and it served as a shelter for the Knights Templar during their visit to the "Serenissima". In the eighteenth century the building was embellished by the frescoes, the work of the students of the famous artist Gianbattista Tiepolo, which adorn the sumptuous Marco Polo salon. The recent restyling brought the Luna its former splendor and further enhanced this hotel with new suites offering either breath-taking views over the St. Mark’s waterfront and the San Giorgio island and fitted out with spacious terrace, ideal places for candle-lit dinners during the summer period. The stamp of glamour and sophistication is evident everywhere: antique furniture, objects d’art, marble bathrooms and imposing Murano crystal chandeliers that adorn the hall and fine corridors. All our rooms are equipped with telephone, adjustable air conditioning and heating, satellite TV, piped music, mini-bar, safe, windows with double pane glass. The warm and extremely elegant "Canova Restaurant" (winner of the "Fogher d’Oro" and "Gambero Rosso" awards) is designed to hold up to 80 guests in a very sophisticated and exclusive surroundings set off against the splendid San Marco lagoon. The Chef suggests traditional dishes of the Veneto region and fine Italian cuisine. A lavish buffet breakfast is served in the stunning Marco Polo Salon whose walls are covered with 18th-century frescoes. The “Caffe Baglioni” overlooking a small canal and the Royal Gardens is the place to enjoy cocktails and spend pleasant relaxing moments. Gondolas and water taxis can reach directly the hotel with its private landing stage.

The Marco Polo International Airport is about 7 km (4½ miles) from the city centre and the hotel, and is connected to it by shuttle boat (30 minutes to San Marco). Taxis are also available on arrival. The Santa Lucia railway station is about 2 km (1¼ miles) from the hotel (20 minutes by taxi).
